Baphomet, the mainstream portrayal of Evil Entity.

What is to be done with our World? This world that is frail, sick, and riddled with festering wounds of old? This world is stricken with a sickness, truly a malevolent sickness, a capricious hand that toys with its entire Being. What pestilence befall our World? I would propose with great confidence that what has eaten away the flesh of our World, the terrors that haunts its dreams, is a sickness of Good. Goodness, indeed, is a foul and nefarious actor for our World and it strikes with death in its eyes, and blood on its hands.

I understand that some of my dear readers may have been taken aback by my proposal, with that Title people could safely assume that our world is rotten with Evil, festering, blistering, wounds of Sin and Depravities eating away our Pure World. This assumption, is of course, inaccurate as our world doesn’t lack any Good, oh dear no! it is filled to the brim with Goodness! Its almost sickening, every corners are filled with positivity, every nook and cranny scrubbed clean of any signs of impurities or deformities. You could say our world has been under a regime of Eugenics, for far too long, a Eugenics hellbent on purifying this world, and in consequence, in risk of purifying it out of existence.

I may have gotten carried away for a moment there, let us reel back in, what is Evil? This question of course takes precedence over “What is Good?” which is a boring since everyone just loves Goodness. One thinker I have chosen for this task of defining Evil is the French sociologist with a penchant for theatrics and mirrors, Jean Baudrillard. Baudrillard, himself, was a man of great attention to Evil with a frankly blasphemous amount of texts he wrote on it. I, of course, won’t be writing an overarching overview of it, I will be taking his concepts and run with it like a thief.

Baudrillard was most adamant in his conception of “The Principle of Evil” a great, and deadly (within our current world configuration) symbolic weapon held only by our World’s little monsters. What is it then? that makes this Principle so dangerous? this relates back onto our sickness at hand, the psychopathic obsession with Good. You see, my dear readers, what we have at hand is a trouble of weakness a weakness brought upon ourselves by our obsessions. Baudrillard already noted it, way back in the 80’s, how our world moves away from the Negative, the Vile, The Evil with surgical precision it wields itself against this “Menace” and instead hellbent on the flourishing of Good.

Evil, for all of its menacing qualities, is not going away nor is it even possible for it to vanish from our sights for the moment it vanishes we too have perished. Evil, always, comes back and when it does its with an atomic explosion of viciousness. Evil, according to Baudrillard, is a “Total fundamental rule of reversibility” at least within our sick system it means that way. Our system, he rightfully diagnosed, is moving towards a bleak future of regimented happiness, totalitarian positivity, and absolute unity a boring and despicable future for him and I. System of Total Positivity is the sickness, its surgical precision in engineering death of dissent, the suicide of critique, and ultimately, the casting away of Evil. Evil, of course, will not be cast away and it rightfully wield itself in the form of immanent reversal of systems.

I should probably note here, late into the piece, that Evil within this context has been stripped from its Moral qualities and is draped with a demonic role within the play of systems we have at hand. Evil is the demon, the vile being, but not Biblical no, for this exists without God and without divine Grace. Evil is cold, it is mechanical, but its coldness burns with an ire, and this ire is the revenge it wields against our sick world. Our world is one with a malady, it is incestuous, it is a writhing mass of Good.

Good has cemented itself within, Good entails all things Evil is not, it entails sameness as it entails incest, it entails positivity devoid of critique, regiments and order without dissent or Exits. Our world is a sick one, as it is an incestuous one, the Regiment of Good has cursed it with a sickening sameness, festering upon itself, snake eats it tail. Our world is sick, and its remedy is a reinstatement of Evil not as a vengeful haunting force, no, but and Evil that is unbound and untethered.
